Lesson Eleven: Spiritual Self Defense

Welcome to Lesson Eleven!

The true meaning of the gospel

In Romans 1, the Apostle Paul writes that he is not ashamed of the gospel of Christ because it is the power of God. For many years the gospel I believed had the power to get me out of hell and into heaven, but it didn’t have much power beyond that.

Then I began rereading the Bible, and discovered some amazing things about the gospel that had somehow eluded me for decades. This new understanding changed everything—the way I read the Bible, the way I live my life, the way I relate to God. The gospel we believe shapes the life we live.
