It features Straight Arrow, a marginalized nobody in our world who becomes a national hero (or villain?) in the Kingdom of Arken. Traveling with him is Dove Fogico. Dove carries The Gift: Everyone she touches hears the voice of God. <\/p>\n<p>When Straight Arrow tries to save the life of the president of the United States, everything goes terribly wrong\u2014and magically right. He ends up in the Kingdom of Arken where he saves the life of the king with a Peter Sellers \/ Pink Panther flavor rescue. But then the king&#8217;s daughter turns up missing along with Dove Fogico. All eyes look to to Straight Arrow. Is he a hero? Or an assassin?<\/p>\n<p><div id=\"spoiler-link-392\" class=\"sh-link spoiler-link sh-hide\"><a href=\"#\" onclick=\"showhide_toggle('spoiler', 392, 'SPOILER WARNING: For more plot click here (113 More Words)', 'Hide Spoiler (113 Less Words)'); return false;\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><span id=\"spoiler-toggle-392\">SPOILER WARNING: For more plot click here (113 More Words)<\/span><\/a><\/div><div id=\"spoiler-content-392\" class=\"sh-content spoiler-content sh-hide\" style=\"display: none;\">As a prisoner in Arken, Straight Arrow meets Threadbar, an undercover agent who unravels a plot to assassinate the king. Meanwhile, Dove and the Princess are imprisoned in a Gorudok dungeon. Threadbar, Straight Arrow, and two others travel to Gorudok in disguise to rescue them. After a successful rescue, all are recaptured. While Dove manages to use the Gift to get them all free, it looks like they may be too late. The Gorudok army, after luring the king and his army to a remote location, has taken over the winter castle and effectively seized control of Arken. Now all eyes turn to Straight Arrow. Can he singlehandedly defeat the entire Gorudok army?<\/div><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nReaders should be aware that the book contains nonexplicit references to rape. <\/p>\n<p>Readers from the Madison and Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA area will enjoy the local references.<\/p>\n<p>While the story does address some serious issues (e.g., recovery from rape), it\u2019s mostly pure fun. The story comes from inside the mind of the quirky main character. If you share my sense of humor, he\u2019s both hilarious and deeply touching. The book contains Christian content without being preachy or sappy.<\/p>\n<p>One reader wrote, \u201cI laughed, I was inspired, and I was challenged&#8230;the humor and adventure cut across many boundaries&#8230;I really enjoyed the conversational telling of the story&#8230;I felt as though I was sitting on a chair listening to you tell your story&#8230;The ending was an interesting surprise&#8230;I&#8230;enjoyed it thoroughly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I was inspired to write this by my wife Kim, who really does carry The Gift. She helps people experience the voice of God in all kinds of creative ways.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: In my book, I use the word &#8220;Indian&#8221; instead of &#8220;Native American.&#8221; That makes some people uncomfortable.
